Welcome to a new daily column by the Ball in a Day’s Work Media writers. Each day one of the writers on this website will create a ranking about whatever they want. This could be a sports related ranking, or it could have nothing to do with them. Maybe a writer wants to make a post about his top 5 favorite ice cream flavors, nothing is stopping him from doing so! This will give our readers an incentive to check the website on the daily and it’ll be an easy way to expand our content. In the future, if we add more writers, there will be a lot of articles on the website. This small write-up will be a simple way to get people on the site, engaged, and ready to read our content!

For the second edition, I (Thomas Stapleton) will be breaking down my top five favorite players. This is a good way for you guys to get to know the type of fan I am and my interesting choices for my favorite players.

Honorable Mention: Tyler Herro

5. Luka Doncic

I absolutely love Luka Doncic and I'm a gigantic fan of his game. The European sensation is already one of the best players in the NBA and is incredibly fun to watch. He can score, shoot, pass, rebound, and is a better defender than people give him credit for. He's got a swagger that is matched by very few players in the league and he has the all-around ability to be the best player in the NBA one day, and I think that's exactly what he'll be.

4. Nikola Jokic

I'm a huge fan of Nikola Jokic and time and time again, whether it's on the podcast or on our Youtube channel (go check those out if you haven't already), you'll see me give him high praise. His unique playing style as a point-center allows for him to be one of the most entertaining and smooth players in the league. Plus, I think players like him are the best kinds of players because they make everyone around him better. Jokic's playstyle is effective for winning basketball games and the Nuggets are a joy to watch because of him.

3. Victor Oladipo

Victor Oladipo flies under the radar these days because of in the injury he suffered but Oladipo is one of the best players in the game when healthy. He can attack the basket, he can shoot, he plays both sides of the basketball, and he's a great leader. He's clearly worked hard to comeback from his injury and I'm excited to see what he can do in these upcoming playoffs to prove everyone wrong.

2. Russell Westbrook

I'm a Thunder fan and Russell Westbrook was my favorite player for several seasons. He's still one of my favorites but it's just so different seeing him in a different uniform. I think the amount of hate Westbrook gets as a player is completely undeserved. There's NOBODY that goes harder each and every night than he does and the passion/drive he has for this game is unmatched. He's also one of the most explosive and athletic players in the NBA and he's incredibly fun to watch. However, it's just not the same now that he's with Houston so he's no longer number one on my list.

1. Shai Gilgeous Alexander

Of course, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is my favorite player in the NBA. Everyday, I have the pleasure of watching this kid play like a star night in and night out. He's one of the craftiest players in the NBA, he can shoot from the outside, he can finish in traffic, he's a solid defender, and he plays like a veteran despite only being 22 years old. He's got one of the brightest futures in the NBA and this guy is going to be an absolute star in this league.
